Darryl heads up the extremely talented team within the Authority Institute, an in-house marketing
agency for our Members. This tight-knit teams works tirelessly to
ensure raving fan service is delivered to our Advantage, ForbesBooks, and Business Journals Books Members on a daily basis.
Darryl’s recipe for leadership is a perfect blend of goal-driven focus and
fun. He is often found high fiving fellow Team Members and being the
hype man at team meetings. Darryl is laser-focused on organizational
efficiency. He tirelessly pursues new ways to streamline project execution,
saving time for both the Member and Team Member. Having
served as the Director of Project Management in the first leg of his
time with Advantage, Darryl is able to lend insights and direction to
his team. When not at work, you can find Darryl acting/directing at
various theatres, perfecting his chicken wing recipe, and losing dance
battles against his 4 year-old son, Cooper.

Senior Account Manager

As a Senior Account Manager, Corie Luzon partners with
Members to ensure their experiences are as smooth and productive as
possible. Corie values the close relationships she builds with Members
as she coaches, guides, and motivates them toward meeting their
business and brand growth goals. Originally from Massachusetts, Corie
joins the Team following an extraordinary stint in paradise. In St.
John, Corie built her exceptional organizational and customer service
skills through her work in resort sales. Corie contributes these skills to
her current work as she ensures timely project execution, connecting
Members with their target audience through Authority Marketing and
a published book.
An entrepreneur herself, Corie co-owns an inshore fishing company
with her husband, handling the day-to-day finances and marketing
efforts for the enterprise

Courtney Morrill

Courtney Morrill

Account Manager

Courtney holds the critical role of Account Manager
within the Authority Institute, our exemplary, in-house marketing
firm. Throughout her day, she diligently oversees the coordination of
our Members’ marketing initiatives, working with them to provide
excellent support. In addition to providing great customer service,
Courtney works with our spirited team of digital
marketing strategists, graphic designers, and others to ensure each member has
what they need.
Making an art form of organization and time management, she keeps a
close eye on the quality and timeliness of each project for each member.
Her efforts help ensure that our Members’ social media presence is
maintained, and that marketing campaigns are launched and meticulously
tracked. She and her associated teams meet several times per
week to touch base on the requests of a given Member and the status of
their projects. She values the extent of interaction that her job affords,
as she gets to coordinate with the whole of the Authority Institute team
and our valuable members.

Account Manager

Caitlin collaborates with our internal team to execute your marketing campaign from start to completion. As your Account Manager, she both represents your account team and is the face of your experience with Advantage. She collects your feedback and diligently works to learn your preferences in order to communicate them with the team. All of your final marketing deliverables will pass through Caitlin, who will ensure they are up to par with your standards.

Most recently, she served as an Account Coordinator at Witz Communications, a PR agency based in Raleigh, NC. Prior to this, she worked as a Marketing Specialist for an organization in Iowa which helps veterans find employment and education opportunities. Caitlin attended Drake University, where she received degrees in Public Relations and Political Science. She is originally from Fort Worth, TX, and a member of the American Marketing Association.

Carson Kendrick

Account Manager

Carson joined the Advantage Family, over a year ago, tasked with overseeing the many moving parts of events for the Oxford Center, a ForbesBooks acquisition. She facilitated event execution, continually communicating and coordinating with representatives from different business units throughout the day. In addition to these efforts, she also handled social media and newsletter distribution for select projects and business units. After excelling in this role and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from members, she was promoted to Account Manager.
As your Account Manager, she both represents your marketing team and is the face of your experience with Advantage. She collects your feedback and diligently works to learn your preferences in order to communicate them with the team. All of your final marketing deliverables will pass through Carson, who will ensure they are up to par with your standards. Organization and clear communication skills are among Carson’s strengths. A graduate of the College of Charleston, she holds a degree in Communication and has an incredible passion for the written word, retaining aspirations to one day become an editor. Her favorite author is Nora Roberts.

Melani holds the critical role of Marketing Account Manager within the Authority Institute, our exemplary, in-house marketing firm. Throughout her day, she diligently oversees the coordination of our Members’ marketing initiatives, working with them to provide excellent support. Making an art form of constant communication, organization and time management, she keeps a close eye on the quality and timeliness of each project for each Member. Her efforts help ensure that our Members’ marketing campaigns are launched and meticulously tracked. She values the amount of interaction that her job affords, as she gets to coordinate with the whole Authority Institute team and our valuable Members.

As a graduate of University of Nebraska Lincoln, Melani studied graphic design and history. Her creative eye took her to work at Brand Union, where she will always remember getting to work backstage at New York Fashion Week. Most recently, Melani served as a Senior IT Account Executive at MicroAge, where she managed all the IT aspects of nearly 100 accounts for almost four years. Seeking to return to her creative roots, she found her home as an Account Manager with Advantage at the Charleston headquarters. When she’s not on Broad Street making Members’ days easier, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors at nature preserves or the beach. She is also an active volunteer with local food banks.

ForbesBooks BVM Product Manager

Joining us from the effervescent city of New Orleans, Lindsey thrives in her role of ForbesBooks BVM Product Manager, where she manages timelines and deliverables as our Members move through the marketing process. Product Managers effectively partner with Account Managers to ensure that all of our Members’ needs and requests are met with swift action. Prior to coming on board at Advantage|ForbesBooks, Lindsey served as an Account Manager at EP+Co for two years in Greenville, SC. A graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, she holds a degree in both Business Economics and French.

Henry serves as ForbesBooks Content Manager within the Authority Institute, our in-house marketing suite. Through his previous roles as a Digital Strategist, Content Writer, and Project Manager in the publishing industry, Henry gained a firsthand understanding of the book publishing process and what types of content resonates with readers. Henry’s background in publishing and copywriting serve him well in his current role, as he connects Members with their target audience through effective messaging. You can find Henry writing, podcasting, reading (mostly fiction), or at the movies when not at work.

ForbesBooks Content Manager

As a ForbesBooks Content Manager, Max creates beautiful articles, blogs, press releases, and more for our Members. He is responsible for working with our Marketing team to bring our author’s voice to life.
Max previously worked at Blue Bicycle Books as a bookseller and store stocker, a limo company as a driver, at a chocolate company as a chocolatier, and interned with Forbes and Forbes.com. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Max was born in Philadelphia but lived most of his life in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In his free time, he likes to read, watch movies, walk his dogs, write, take photos, make toasts at weddings, bald gracefully, play fetch with his cat Louise, and try to get out on the water.

Chris Richter

Front-End Web Developer

As Front-End Web Developer, Chris Richter works with clients in growing their online presence and personal brand. Before coming to Advantage|ForbesBooks, Chris worked for seven years as a Multimedia Specialist for VarnerMiller, LLC, a training development company located in Charleston. He has also worked as a freelance Graphic Designer from 2010 to present.
Chris attended Winthrop University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design: Graphic Design. He also received his certificate in Full-Stack Web Application Development from the JRS Coding School.
In the free time that he does have, Chris is an avid live music fan, both as an audience member and performer. He’s been playing bass guitar with different bands since he was 16 and continues to do so. Chris an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers, South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Atlanta Braves.
Chris and his fiance have a three-year-old Chocolate Lab named Shelly and they love taking her to the beach on weekends. Some of his favorite places to visit include Telluride, Colorado, Prague, Czech Republic, and Asheville, North Carolina.
